This passed Wednesday, we had a timed essay, just like what my English teacher said it was going to happen. So we had four topics and a web document of instructions, he sent to everyone days before. I am not at liberty to say what the four topics were, but let’s just say that they are random topics with no correlation to each other. The instructions also stated that two of the topic will chosen at random and that the student will chose a topic between the two. Surprise!!! The English teacher reveiled that topics 1 and 4 are ones to be chosen between.
Apparently, I must have misread the directions concerning the topics. What I did was that I wrote at least four topic sentences for all four topics on the back of the printed web document. The web document gave some instructions saying that if the notes for the topics are to be written. they must be written on the back of the instructions sheet. It also stated that full sentences can’t be written but notes concering the thesis of each topic is allowed.
When my English teacher corrected me by letting me know that segments are the ones allowed and not full sentences of the thesis. It clicked. So, I put it away. But thank Buddha that I know the main points of each topic.
The topic I chosen was what is the most popular sport in your country and why. Since Im half cuban, I could have said in Cuba, the most popular sport there was baseball. But I have stopped being a baseball fan when I have gotten tired of the **** Yankees winning all the time. So since that time, MLB has underwent some serious changes and I, my friend, did not care to keep up. With that being said, I knew it was futile to write a paper on that. But since I was born in the States, then I would have to elaborate on the sport here. Here in the US, it is the NFL (National Football League.) I have been watching football since I was 6. I believe it had gotten that way because I grew up as a tomboy, so I do tend to have some type of aggressive tendencies, but its not in a bad way. So it became something of a form of “liquid crack” as I grew up. Something about athleticism, power, and the nature of physical prowess is something to be attracted to. If you can put two and two together, then one can understand.
So I started to write my paper and mind you, it is timed. Freaking class PC that I was on, froze. So I waited. But then I was told to hop on another one. *Sigh* now Im in. So it became easy for me to write about the topic. So I wrote as much as I could and I figured to have some time left to quickly proofread the topic and turn it in, electronically or hard copy. This is for a grade, not for an in class exercise or practice. All I have to say is: ” I wonder where Mr. Tim Tebow is gonna end up?!”, “What the **** is wrong with the Eagles putting Kolb as starting Qb, after McNabb is leaving. He gotten less play than their erroneously placed 3rd string QB, Vick !!!!!”, and “I have been telling everyone for 2 seasons that Carolina was gonna let Delhomme go. But I have telling everyone since the beginning of last season that Matt Moore was gonna replace him !”
