Entertainment and Sports Programming Network……….March 21

This passed Wednesday, we had a timed essay, just like what my English teacher said it was going to happen. So we had four topics and a web document of instructions, he sent to everyone days before. I am not at liberty to say what the four topics were, but let’s just say that they are random topics with no correlation to each other. The instructions also stated that two of the topic will chosen at random and that the student will chose a topic between the two. Surprise!!! The English teacher reveiled that topics 1 and 4 are ones to be chosen between.
Apparently, I must have misread the directions concerning the topics. What I did was that I wrote at least four topic sentences for all four topics on the back of the printed web document. The web document gave some instructions saying that if the notes for the topics are to be written. they must be written on the back of the instructions sheet. It also stated that full sentences can’t be written but notes concering the thesis of each topic is allowed.
When my English teacher corrected me by letting me know that segments are the ones allowed and not full sentences of the thesis. It clicked. So, I put it away. But thank Buddha that I know the main points of each topic.
The topic I chosen was what is the most popular sport in your country and why. Since Im half cuban, I could have said in Cuba, the most popular sport there was baseball. But I have stopped being a baseball fan when I have gotten tired of the **** Yankees winning all the time. So since that time, MLB has underwent some serious changes and I, my friend, did not care to keep up. With that being said, I knew it was futile to write a paper on that. But since I was born in the States, then I would have to elaborate on the sport here. Here in the US, it is the NFL (National Football League.) I have been watching football since I was 6. I believe it had gotten that way because I grew up as a tomboy, so I do tend to have some type of aggressive tendencies, but its not in a bad way. So it became something of a form of “liquid crack” as I grew up. Something about athleticism, power, and the nature of physical prowess is something to be attracted to. If you can put two and two together, then one can understand.
So I started to write my paper and mind you, it is timed. Freaking class PC that I was on, froze. So I waited. But then I was told to hop on another one. *Sigh* now Im in. So it became easy for me to write about the topic. So I wrote as much as I could and I figured to have some time left to quickly proofread the topic and turn it in, electronically or hard copy. This is for a grade, not for an in class exercise or practice. All I have to say is: ” I wonder where Mr. Tim Tebow is gonna end up?!”, “What the **** is wrong with the Eagles putting Kolb as starting Qb, after McNabb is leaving. He gotten less play than their erroneously placed 3rd string QB, Vick !!!!!”, and “I have been telling everyone for 2 seasons that Carolina was gonna let Delhomme go. But I have telling everyone since the beginning of last season that Matt Moore was gonna replace him !”

…………Extended Stay March 10

Well its Spring Break time. Im glad at least I can have time to myself to take care of life’s workings. I am not sure what I wanna do. But my baby “brother” was talking about going to Savannah. I would love to but I don’t wanna be caught short in any situation, especially when Im a little ways from home. I thought about going out. I haven’t stepped out in a very long time. For a while, I tend to be low key. It is not neccessarily for personal reasons. But as I have gotten older, my habits change. But I think that it wouldn’t hurt to go out and have a little fun once in a while.

“bang, bang, bang,”………….March 1st

This is hardest thing in my life for me to talk about especially when some much power can put into something so ,…little. Unfortunately my story begins with family and ends with one less person. I was at the fond not tender age of 16, no less oblivious to the world and its inner workings. I had the “lovely” opportunity to be born into a large family with delusional and dysfunctional traits. As my family could contribute to new Webster’s Dictionary version of cliques (high school). It would be merely as so. Even so, they would turn out once a year to show togetherness or whatever that term means.
Being born from a twin can be something to brag about. But in this case,…….NOT REALLY !!!!!!!!! When you hear grown women and twins for that matter, bicker over religion ( one was muslim, the other christian), one slowly comes to the conclusion of the fact that it a possibility that they are in a family that shows some signs of “different” traits. Majority of “club” members in this knitted fabric, has some sort of hidden temperaments. Even so, there’s always that one that makes you smile. Sad thing about it is what got to this person is life’s uncertainty……………………..

Whoaa is me!!!

Sorry for not blogging as much lately. Life, PC crashing, line-dancing at the hospital, and lack of there of…car can cause a few difficulties.
Man, I am so in trouble for not keeping up. Well might as well give you an update; two weeks ago for a span of one week, I was in and out of the hospital for a total for one week. I had been dealing with this ailment. But during that week, it gotten worse to the point where the meds, I was currently taking…no longer worked. I’ve been to 4 different hospitals and prescribed at least 6 different medications. Oh c’mon!! This doctors don’t know what they are talking about. I have heard muscle spasms to trimenial neuralgia. The reason I got trimenial neuralgia was when a doctor did a sensitivity test on my face; the left side of my face failed. I kinda got an idea that it would because the left side of my face went numb twice in February. Some of my friends are scared and are wondering if I am suffering from early signs of a stroke. I hope not. I would love to continue to be physically active. I’m still waiting for my doctor to schedule tests for me. But I’ve come to realize that I am not her only patient and her schedule gets filled about a month in advanced. Good thing about it, at least she identified the type of meds, I was on. She noted that the medication I was taking that was helping with the pain was nerve medication. She indicated that something maybe wrong with the nerves in the back of my head, but she said some tests needed to be done to confirm. So I have come to the conclusion that I have some type of nerve inflammation/ damage in the back of my head. Well, we’ll see what will tests show, if i can even be scheduled in for them. For more side salad…………………How in the h*ll I ended up gettin’ a man ???!!!!!!!!

English Class 1/25

Class in session……today we were to have our 10-20 questions to ask our partner, the interview basically. Alas, where is my partner……uhhh ohhh, I might fail this essay if he doesn’t make an appearance. Mr. Keleher was thoughful enough to give the students who would show up late, a few minutes. Minutes past,….ooooookkkay,….where is my partner. Ahhh there he is,….the last one showing up. Eh? As long as he showed up and I can get this interview done,….the “prettier” my essay will be.
So let’s get down to business. I have my beautifully structured questions and I am READY!!!! So, we begin. I ask my questions…….then I was not aware that we had 15 minutes left. I am very sorry that my questions took soo dern long. So, he get irritated and goes on a tangent. I had to “remind” him that he was the one that was late and class started late because he wanted to be late..and that the instructor was nice enought to not to begin without him. We get into it. I look over and see Mr. Keleher reading adn trying to not pay us any mind. But I know he can hear our bickering. So, we ended it. Then he asks his questions about pro and college football. ARE YOU SERIOUS?!!!!!! I try to give him as much information on Georgia sports, but I see that this is really not going anywhere. He has to help himself on this one.

English Class 1/20

Ahh, Essays…a wonderment of every english student’s dream…..time for essays! Well, Mr.Keleher needed a volunteer to type up the essay notes breakdown, to be put up. Well, since I can blog my arse off….might as well throw my hands up. heheheheh. So, he was asking the class, where were they from and what subjects would be good as essay topics. He also mentioned that you have to formulate 10-20 questions pertaining to the topic, you chose. These questions would help you build your essay. As I sit here playing the role similiar to a court transcriptor, I was trying to figure out what subject would be good enough for me to be able to make 10-20 questions from that you would ask your partner. He also had asked each person in the class write on a piece of paper, their name and the three subjects they would choose.
Now, as I was figuring which one,…Mr. keleher discussed with the class, how would we go about picking partners……then the thought doned on him that we have an even number of international students and U.S. students in the class. So, he did one pile international students and US students. Then, he broke it down between the two, which one would have similiars interests to be paired up with. I get paired up with a Puerto Rican name Luis. I know a little about Puerto Rico, but where my father’s family is from (Cuban), there is still contrasting differences.
So myself and Luis get together and we discuss the topics that we think it would be best to be able to ask each other. So I chose Love & Marriage in P.R. He chose “SPORTS”. I love sports, but I am trying to figure out how is he going to write an Essay about sports in Georgia.
*Sigh* We’ll see how this turns out.

Day 2 (1/13) of my English class

Remember that quiz I had mentioned, earlier. Oh yeah, game day was on, today. Oh yes my dear followers, your favorite mixed cubanita had a passing grade. I know for a fact I got the last question wrong because I knew the other answers by heart. I would say it’s a good start. THEN, Mr. Keleher reiterated what was on the syllabus. It was talked about around the time towards taking The Exit Writing Sample and about some of us might have to retake the COMPASS test. Are they serious ???!!! I’ve just took that test this past summer session, when I applied to Kennesaw State. I was told the scores are good for three years. So why retake it? GRRRRR, more tests……ahh the life of a college student !!! So the next thing Mr. Keleher shows us is 2 ways to do our next assignment. The assignment was to create a blog, not neccessarly formal, of my thoughts and experiences of being in his English class; like I am doing right now. Oh no people, its not a one time thing, it’s a progressive project/assignment and of course, it is to be graded. The first option is to do the blogs by Word. The second option is to publish the blogs on a blogging website, like WordPress and link the page to him. Now my reasoning for choosing the blogging website and not the Word document is simple. Since my major is Information Systems, of course I would have a general basis of knowing how to find my way around a computer and it’s programs. I have alot experience with various Word processor programs. Now here’s the breakdown, let’s say you do you blog in a Word document. You would not only save the document on the computer, but would also use a flash/thumb drive to save a backup copy. Nowadays, the Microsoft Office Word 2007 uses .docx as its new extension for it format for its word processing documents.(Although it does give you the option of saving the document in earlier formats.) Now what happens if you tried to open the documentand its extension is .docx, on a PC that doesn’t have the version of 2007 of Microsoft Office Word? Either you can open it and the document is translated in “greek” characters or the document wouldn’t be able to be opened, at all. Even if you have an earlier version of Microsoft Office, let’s say 2003……you still need a document converter to be able to open the file extension .docx. All that my friend, is too much work to do and lose. I was smart to choose the Blogging site. Now with a blogging website, you can gain access to your blogs that are stored on the site’s server. What is so good about that ? Well, you can access the site from anywhere, so long as an internet connection is available.
So, he got us started on making accounts on WordPress. I am familiar with WordPress. But I thought WordPress was for serious web authors, because of the site’s simple and semi-sophisticated appearance. When he mentioned using a blogging site, I figured to do the regular ‘ol Joe Shmoe blogging on my social networking sites that I’m on and link him to those blog pages. But, then again…this is something new. So far, I love the class! One thing’s for sure, I was smart enough to get started on the rought drafts of the blogs, on paper, before class ended AND I was helping other students with their accounts !

My new English 0099 class 1/11

I can’t wait until these two weeks are over! Then, I can stop traveling from Buckhead to Kennesaw by bus! I know, I know it’s a long way. But I have to stick it out.  After that, I will be in Kennesaw, indefinitely. YES! I am counting the days. Today, it’s my first day in my English 0099 class. My instructor is Mr. Keleher. I know I think this too, but every new student wants to know what their instructor would be like. He walks in with a pleasant demeanor. Eh? Taking an LS class don’t seem so bad,…so far. But  at least we found out early on, that Mr. Keleher keeps the course interesting. Further into the class, We all realize that he has VERY enthusiastic personality. That’s good, very good. It shows that an instructor can be very congenial. Then, he tells us about there’s going to be a quiz on the syllabus, the next time we meet. A QUIZ ON THE SYLLABUS???!!!!! Even, I had to refer to my college mates to validate the course of my sanity. They, too thought it was kinda odd. All  I can say is “Wow, that’s something new !” Oh well, whatever it takes. On a side note, I was able to befriend a couple of the classmates. Hahahaha. Well off to studying my dear compatriots !
